1^st generation Hans Jørgen Olsen Winnem
Hans Jørgen, born October 29, 1851 in Vanse - was unmarried deputy sheriff at Alstadhaug in 1875, and sheriff and farmer at Evenes in 1900. He lived at Liland in Ofoten. He married Henny Clara Isabella Dundas, born August 12 1846 in Ålesund. Henny was settled at Alstadhaug according to the Census of 1875. She was the daughter of Master of Carpentry Mikal Brinkmann Dass, born 1820 and Johanne Kristianna Henrikke Dass born Skjølberg in 1820 in Bergen. Their children:

• Michal Christian Winnem, born February 2, 1877, died June 18, 1943

2^nd generation Michal Christian Winnem
Chemical Engineer Michal Winnem born February 19, 1877 in Trondheim, died June 18, 1943 in Mosjøen. He worked as Division Engineer at A.S. Sydvaranger in Kirkenes, a mining company. Evacuated to Mosjøen in the fall 1941. Michal lived at Ullevålsveien 15 in Oslo in 1900. Hans Jørgen, his father, was still on the move between Vanse and Evenes so that's why Michal was born in Trondheim. Married to Signe Qvale December 28, 1901 in . Their children:

3^rd generation Hans Jørgen Winnem
Farmer and fisherman, born November 21, 1902 at Liland in Ofoten. Hans Jørgen migrated to Australia about 1920 where he worked at a goldmine in Beechworth, Victoria. He was active during WW2 for 5 1/2 years in Syria, Africa, Palestine and Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and was dismissed as Technical Sergeant without a scratch. He married Ida Fay Cox, born February 22, 1905 in Bairnsdale, Victoria, Australia. Their children:
